Digital systems peoplecan trust and usesafely.
I connect cybersecurity, usability and the human factor. I study how people recognise digital risks and how to design secure, usable and explainable systems — from public Wi-Fi networks to services using artificial intelligence.

RESEARCH PROFILE
Research themes and current work
My research focuses on three connected questions: how people perceive digital risks, how to design appropriately adaptive systems and how to evaluate technology under conditions of actual use.
Why awareness of digital risks often does not lead to safer behaviour
Research on security awareness, user decision-making, everyday habits and understandable protective mechanisms.
How to create systems that are usable, explainable and appropriately adaptive
Evaluation of information systems, adaptive expert tools and digital services from the users’ perspective.
How to evaluate technology under the conditions in which it is used
Connecting the technical quality of systems with how people understand them, incorporate them into practice and make decisions with their support.
FROM KNOWLEDGE TO APPLICATIONS
Research and development in practice
Alongside academic research, I design and develop my own software solutions. I connect usability, cybersecurity and information systems with practical user needs.

INSIGHTS
Research explained clearly
Brief, accessible explanations of topics I address in my research, publications and teaching.
Security Training Is Not Enough When Urgency and Convenience Take Over
Users often act insecurely not because they lack knowledge, but because security competes with time, convenience and an immediate goal.
Read articleA Map That Works in Calm Conditions May Fail in a Crisis
Crisis maps cannot be evaluated like ordinary web applications. Under time pressure, rapid spatial understanding is decisive.
Read articleIs Public Wi-Fi Always Irresponsible? Sometimes It Is the Only Way to Get Online
Limited mobile data, roaming costs and poor coverage can make public connectivity the only realistic alternative.
Read articleI help identify where technical requirements diverge from how people understand and use digital systems, and translate findings into feasible measures.
Analysis of user decision-making
Assessment of risky habits, security awareness and decision-making in work and public settings.
User evaluation of systems
Evaluation of the clarity, usability and practical value of digital services for their users.
Consulting, methods and lectures
Expert input for projects, workshops and education in cybersecurity, HCI, AI and information systems.
PUBLICATION OUTPUTS
